CEC Gyanesh Kumar to visit Gujarat on Sept 10-11

Ahmedabad: Chief Election Commissioner of India Gyanesh Kumar will undertake a two-day visit to Gujarat on September 10 and 11, during which he will interact with Booth Level Officers (BLOs), Electoral Literacy Club (ELC) members and prominent citizens on various aspects of election management and voter awareness, an official press release stated today.

Kumar will begin his Gujarat visit on September 10 by paying homage to Mahatma Gandhi at Sabarmati Ashram and touring the historic premises. He will then visit the historic Adalaj Stepwell as part of his engagement with Gujarat’s cultural heritage.

In the evening, the CEC will visit the Ahmedabad Management Association (AMA) campus, where he will interact with prominent citizens on the theme “Conducting Elections in India: The Largest Democracy in the World.”

On September 11, the second day of his visit, Kumar will interact with around 500 Booth Level Officers (BLOs) from across Gujarat at an event organised at the ATAL KALAM Hall on the Gujarat University campus in Ahmedabad.

He will later interact with and motivate more than 1,000 Electoral Literacy Club (ELC) members at the AUDA Auditorium in Shela. The event will also feature a presentation on the vision, mission and key features of the recently launched ELC 2.0, a press release said.

An informative session on ECINET, the Election Commission’s operational “All Solutions Platform” for elections, will also be conducted during the programme.

Senior Election Commission of India officials, including Director General (Media) Ashish Goyal, Director General (IT) Seema Khanna, Director Shubhra Saxena and Deputy Director (Media) Apoorva Kumar Singh, will provide guidance during the events through PowerPoint presentations.

The interactions with BLOs and ELC members have been meticulously organised by the Gujarat Chief Electoral Officer’s team led by Sandip Sagale, in line with the CEC’s vision of “Transparency from Roll to Poll.” DeshGujarat
