GPCL plans to put electric bus on road

Gujarat governmenr run Gujarat Power Corporation Limited (GPCL) has invited expression of interest on its website for introducing e-vehicle project on pilot basis on Ahmedabad-Gandhinagar route.
The project is about 15-40 seater mini- buses. The project also includes setting up of solar-power based electric charging stations at regular distances on Ahmedabad-Gandhinagar highway.
As a green initiative,the state government had earlier put CNG-run buses on this route but later the buses were replaced with diesel buses.
