Air India tyre burst and other news in brief from across Gujarat

Ahmedabad, 26 July 2014

-Two tyres of Delhi-Ahmedabad Air India flight AI 030 burst today evening at Ahmedabad airport. As per primary information arriving 50 persons were aboard and all are safe. 84 passengers who were to board the plane in return journey to Delhi are stuck at airport as the plane has been taken to parking zone. Passengers are given halt at hotels in Ahmedabad.

-Congress Councillors, mainly a group of Muslim Councillors were on rampage in general board meeting of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation on Friday. Presented is the picture clicked in board meeting. One in beard is Hajibhai, Congress Councillor elected from Juhapura.

-Anticipatory bail of 10 accused in Surat bridge(under construction) slab collapse case are rejected by court.

-The city of Vadodara received heavy rain in the evening on Friday following which level of water in Vishwamitri river was on rise.

-CAG report was tabled on last day of Gujarat assembly on Friday. Congress MLAs created ruckus over tabling of report on the last day. Some Congress MLAs were wearing garlands of vegetables to protest price rise. All Congress MLAs barring two were suspended for a day. Later the other two walked out. CAG report was therefore tables in absence of Congress.

-The budget session of Gujarat assembly concluded on Friday.

-Draw for over 6,000 affordable housing unit was concluded in Ahmedabad’s University convention hall in presence of minister of state Shankarbhai Chaudhary among others(video below)
