Rajnath inaugurates the integration of BSF with BISAG at Bhuj in Gujarat

The Union Home Minister, Shri Rajnath Singh inaugurated the integration of Border Security Force (BSF) with Bhaskaracharya Institute for Space Applications and Geo informatics (BISAG) project of Gujarat Government today at BSF Camp, Bhuj. The Home Minister was briefed about the details and utility of BISAG and need for dedicated, encrypted channel for Para Military Forces.
Then Shri Rajnath Singh addressed BSF Jawans live through BISAG and interacted with them. Few of the Jawans telephonically made requests regarding increase of Air Courier services in North East region and J&K and regarding time bound promotions. One of the Jawan also asked for giving one-rank one pension to BSF also. Union Home Minister assured them that he will look into the matter.
BSF jawans represented various demands before visiting Home Minister. They sought 8th wage commission benefits to para military forces, authorized status of Shahid and benefit to Shahid’s family, special benefit in railway reservation in case of transfer and leave, one rank one pension benefit similar to Army, retirement pension benefit to those recruited post 2005 etc.
Sharing the details of BISAG facility, Gujarat Home Secretary SK Nanda said that with the help of this facility which is equipped with ‘Q’ band, BSF jawans and officers will be able to interact through video calling. Initially ten officers are connected through this technology.
Yesterday evening, Shri Rajnath Singh visited at BSF Mooring place (Satish) Koteshwar. The Home Minister was briefed about the Mooring place. After this, the Home Minister visited BSF Campus at Bhuj and was briefed about the Campus. All issues concerning border areas, creek and coastal security were discussed.
Rajnath Singh opened a new border out post at Bibi ka kuan near Lakhpat in Kutch district of Gujarat bordering Pakistan.
Ahead of Lakhpat visit, Rajnath Singh, Minister of state for Home in Gujarat Rajnibhai Patel, BSF DG DK Pathak Gujarat Home Secretary SK Nanda and other officers visited infamous Harami nala area sitting in All Terrain Vehicle(ATV). They spent about 3 hours here.
Rajnath also opened BSF out post at Dharamshala. He discussed various affairs related to Kutch border at Vighokot border. He also visited Shahid smarak at Dharamshala.
