Shifting Vajubhai hasn’t gone well with Rajkot voters:Shankersinh

Rajkot, 22 September 2014

Leader of opposition in Gujarat assembly Shankersinh Vaghela today while speaking to media persons in Rajkot said that removal of Vajubhai Vala as representative of Rajkot has not gone well with the people of Rajkot and they shall react against such decision by voting in favor of Congress in upcoming bypoll of Rajkot(West) assembly seat.

On the sidelines of Congress party’s state executive meeting in Rajkot, Shankersinh while speaking to media persons said, “Vajubhai was doing well as MLA of Rajkot(West). There was no need to shift him. His shifting has not gone well with the people of Rajkot and they will give their reaction in upcoming bypoll which Congress is going to win.”

It should be mentioned that Vajubhai Vala was representing Rajkot(West) assembly seat in Rajkot city for six terms. He resigned from this seat as he was appointed Governor of Karnataka recently. Vajubhai’s exit has invited by-poll here which is to be contested from BJP by senior leader Vijaybhai Rupani.Rajkot(West) is one of the safest seats for BJP which has been also contested by Narendra Modi in early 2000s. Congress is hopeful to cut margin of Vijaybhai by fielding a candidate who is favorable to local caste factors. Polling for Rajkot(West) seat is going to take place on 15 October.

Speaking to media persons, Congress leader Shaktisinh Gohil said that the party will take decision on its candidate for Rajkot West assembly bypoll in couple of days. Shaktisinh said that the candidate will be selected unopposed. He will be someone who is simple and live among people.
