Rajkot, 27 October 2014
The names of Pradip Burman of Dabur, Rajkot-based bullion trader Pankaj Chalamanlal Lodhia and Goa-based mining baron Radha Timloo were disclosed by the Centre on Monday in an affidavit submitted before the Supreme Court on Indians holding illegal bank accounts abroad. Lodhia standing outside his jewelry shop while replying to questions asked by media persons said that he has no Swiss bank account. He said he has already submitted financial transactions and other details to Income Tax department.
Speaking to a news channel, Pankaj Lodhia said: “I have been into bullion business for last many years in Rajkot. For last ten years I am dealing across India. I import gold and silver and sell it as wholesaler to showrooms and retail. I faced Income Tax raid and declared everything I had officially. For last five years, I perhaps pay highest Income tax in Rajkot. Whenever we face queries, we do reply to the government. I am nothing compared to big people who could be in list of black money. I can say that I have no Swiss bank account. I believe that accounts of big politicians should be taken to task. Though my name has come into this, I want to say that Narendra Modi has taken best step. I will totally cooperate the government and share all the details. I am innocent.”
