As part of the Bhadra Plaza Development Project, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corproation(AMC) has taken a decision to implement vendor policy. As per this, out of 1580 hawkers that are to be affected due to Bhadra Plaza Development Project(BPDP), 690 will be allotted space in Bhadra Plaza itself, while 440 will be placed near Victoria garden and 450 near Sardar Bag. Space will be allotted through draw system.
627 hawkers located near Jamalpur APMC market will be given alternate space under Jamalpur bridge and near Phulbajar.
In year 2011, AMC had surveyed 45,000 hawkers under its vender policy which suggests that relocated hawkers should be given alternate space near their existing location of business.
AMC has taken a decision to reserve plots in each town planning scheme for vendors.
