December 31, 2014
Chandigarh
The Haryana government today said the social security pensions will be disbursed to beneficiaries through bank accounts from March next year.
“Pensions for February payable in March will be given through bank accounts,” Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said here.
The bankers had requested for one month’s time to ensure that the entire system (through banks) functioned in an efficient manner, he added.
All beneficiaries would get Rs 1,200 per month from January 1, 2015.
Khattar said possibilities are also being explored to disburse pensions through post offices at some places so that nobody should face any difficulty in getting pension.
“The government is keen on timely disbursement of pensions to all beneficiaries besides checking any mismanagement,” the Chief Minister said.
