Speaking at valedictory function of 7th Vibrant Gujarat Summit, Tata Group Chairman Cyrus Mistry said Tata Group’s continuous growth in Gujarat is driven by three factors.
Firstone is Gujarat’s exceptional logistical infrastructure, second one is Gujarat’s responsible administration whose response continuously sets standard for others to follow, and third that Gujarat has advantage of its people who bring positive energy and entrepreneurial attitude to business.
Mistry described Tata group founder Jamshedji Tata as son of Gujarat and pointed out that this Vibrant Gujarat summit coincides with 175th birth anniversary celebration of Shri Jamshedji Tata.
Mistry spoke about Tata group’s existing ventures in Gujarat and added, “we believe that a critical national infrastructure strenth is going to be renewable energy, and we have decided that 20-25% of our total power generation can be from renewable resources. We have already built a solar plant in Gujarat and also begun to establish a significant wind energy foot print in the state.”
Mistry mentioned old ties of the Tata group with the state of Gujarat and pointed out that Tata Chemicals was established as early as in 1939 in Gujarat. He said when Tata recently launched its new airline Vistara in India, it was easy decision to include Ahmedabad along with Mumbai and Delhi as first set of group of cities. Vistara’s Ahmedabad flight was launched on January 10, he added.
He said, Vibrant Gujarat summit continues to grow from strength to strength.
