Vadodara Municipal Corporation has shifted the location of proposed tallest Indian flag project from Kamati baug to river front.
Ground breaking for a 281-ft tall national flag was performed by minister Saurabh Patel recently. Also a MoU was signed with Federation of Gujarat Industries for this project. However now the location of this project has been shifted to Kalyannagar river front.
At present, the tallest and biggest Indian tricolor is located at Connaught place in Delhi. Vadodara wants to break that record. While in normal case, national flag has to be removed daily evening as per the law, in special cases when its size is extra ordinary, the government gives exemption. Vadodara flag will also get such exemption. The flag project will cost Rs. 90 lakh as per an estimate.
