Gujarat govt launches statewide 181 Abhayam Women helpline service

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Gujarat Chief Minister today launched Gujarat-wide expansion of 181(toll free number) Abhayam women helpline service.
For on-the-spot assistance to protect the women in need, vans across Gujarat(photo attached) have been put on roads today under the 181 helpline service. Each van will have two women constables, one counselor and one driver. They will rush to help woman in need. When no call to attend they will involve in awareness campaign.
The service already started in Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar and Surat jointly by the State Women’s & Children’s Department and Home Department, is now being extended to the state.
