Morari Bapu, Arun Jaitley dedicate steam boats at Varanasi

Varanasi

BJP leader Arun Jaitley along with spiritual guru Morari Babu today dedicated to public two steam boats that will ferry dead bodies to the cremation ghats of Varanasi without any charge. The boats are donated by Gujarat based Sudhanshu Mehta Foundation. They were sent from Gujarat in trucks.

On the occasion, PM’s principal secretary Nripendra Mishra along with other officials was also present.

Main objective of introducing Jal Shav Vahinis is to keep the corps carrying vehicles off from the roads leading to cremation ghats in view of the prevailing congestion in the city. These boats will take the corpses from Samne Ghat and Mahisasur Ghat to the cremation grounds through waterway. According to Paatil, pre-fabricated cremation platforms and scientifically designed pyres, which will reduce pollution and time of burning the bodies, will also be created at both cremation grounds soon. Specially designed treatment plants are also going to be created to keep the ghats clean and restrict disposal of pollutants in Ganga from the cremation sites.

When asked by reporters to comment on recent political development, particularly mess in Aam Admi Party(AAP), Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said AAP should fulfil the promises made to the people of Delhi and not fritter away the opportunity with its “immature” politics.

He said people of Delhi had high hopes when they voted for Arvind Kejriwal government and he never expected “such politics” to emerge.

“This new kind of politics which has emerged wherein when a politician talks, the conversation is recorded. Well! I never expected this kind of politics,” Jaitley said at a press conference.

He was replying to queries related to the turmoil in Aam Aadmi Party and the alleged taped conversation of AAP chief Arvind Kejrial in a sting operation in which he is heard purportedly using expletives against dissident leaders Yogendra Yadav and Prashant Bhushan and even threatening to form a new party.

Jaitley said that AAP should fulfil the promises that it had made with public during Delhi assembly election and people of the city had a lot of expectations when they voted for this government.

“With a lot of expectation and high hopes, people of Delhi had chosen the government. The promises which AAP and its leaders have made with public, they must fulfil them,” said Jaitley, adding that “they should not let this historical opportunity go waste just because of their immature politics.”
