Fast emerging as ‘villain of Gujarat’, Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti(PAAS) leader Hardik Patel today during his visit to Surat told a Patidar community youth Vipul Desai to kill two to five police persons.
Hardik was visiting Patidar community person Vipul Desai in Surat who had last week submitted a memorandum to local police that he would commit suicide on certain day for the cause of reservation to Patidar community.
Vipul however yesterday reversed his decision and told media persons that he had dropped his idea of committing suicide for now after police’s assurance to him.
During a visit to Vipul, Hardik Patel today said, “Patidar can’t die, if you have so much(anger), then (go and) kill 2-5 police persons.”
A video clip of this conversation was viral on Whatsapp messenger.
Even Vipul Desai spoke to media and said Hardik advised him to kill two to five police persons.
This is not first time that Hardik has spoken in such language. In earlier video clip he was seen saying someone from his community that he would come with revolver to Viramgam.
On another occasion during his interaction with a Hindi news channel, Hardik had demanded America like law so that everyone can keep gun with him.
In at least two speeches, Hardik has asked women from Patidar community to leave steel dishes and spoon and start taking bats(dhoka) in their hand. In one of his speeches, Hardik told Patidar community persons to burn down a Lanka of Ravana to ashes.
10 persons are dead and crores of Rupees of public and private property has been damaged and destroyed during Hardik Patel’s violent agitation for quota in Other Backward Class(OBC) category to Patidar community, a demand that has been turned down by OBC commission over a decade back. – DeshGujarat
PTI report:
Ahmedabad,
In a controversial remark, Hardik Patel, the 22 years old leader of the Patel quota stir, today advised a youth from the community to rather kill policemen than commit suicide.
“If you have so much courage…then go and kill a couple of policemen. Patels never commit suicide,” Hardik said in Surat, speaking to a local youth, Vipul Desai, who had announced that he would commit suicide in support of the agitation.
Hardik visited Desai’s house today, accompanied by team of a local news-channel, which aired the conversation later.
Desai told reporters later that Hardik advised him not to take his own life. “He gave me the advice that we are sons of Patels and we should kill two to three policemen rather than thinking of suicide,” Desai said.
Sardar Patel Group (SPG) convener Lalji Patel, who was the first to start the agitation for reservation for Patels in OBC quota, distanced himself from Hardik’s advice.
“Our agitation is being run in Gandhian way, so we should not talk about killing anybody. That was not a right statement by him. We must not make such statements which can spark off a class conflict in the society,” Lalji said.
“He should make sensible statements. As he has been accepted as the leader of the Patel community, such statements can harm our cause,” Lalji added.
Later, Hardik denied that he gave such an advice. “I have not given any advice to kill policemen. This is an attempt to misguide the people. If I am seen giving such a statement in any video or audio, then action should be taken against me,” he said.
The young leader has been hogging the limelight since the August 25 “mega-rally” of Patels here and the subsequent violence across Gujarat.
