Why today’s Revenue Talati exam in Gujarat is considered so big?

Well that’s because the fact that as many as 12 lakh youths applied to appear in this examination.

The exam is being conducted by Gujarat Public Service Commission(GPSC) to fill 2,480 posts of Revenue Talati.

Successful Revenue Talati will get Rs 10,000 fix payment per month for first five years. If satisfied with performance, government in such cases will grant permanent job after five years period and offer Rs 5200-20, 200 grade pay. During this year another Panchayat recruitment drive will witness exam for 3329 posts.

Government had allowed district collectors to withdraw mobile internet facility to prevent leakage of question paper. Ahmedabad, Mahesana and Patan were three districts where such imposition was executed.

Barring one single incident of missing question paper and unsealed envelop in Gir Somnath district, the exam has been uneventful so far.

In recent years, every such large scale examination and recruitment proecss has attracted petitions in courts. Even in today’s case, 1500 posts are already facing court battle in the Supreme Court.

Gujarat government has in its recently presented budget announced recruitment drive for 66,000 government jobs in financial year 2016-17.
