12% water in 137 dams of Saurashtra region

The situation of water storage in dams in Gujarat is not at satisfactory level.
In 15 dams of north Gujarat, the percentage of water storage is 29.27. In 17 dams of central Gujarat it is 32.33%, in 13 dams of south 35.60%, in 20 dams of Kutch it is 25.56%.
But the worst situation is in Saurashtra where percentage of water storage is just 12.02% in total of 137 dams.
Gujarat has total 202irrigation dams in which there’s 30.35% water storage. More than 49 dams are dry while 16 dams have more than 40% water storage.
The State government yesterday declared partial scarcity in 527 villages.
While summer this year will not witness much problem thanks to Narmada water, it is extremely important that next monsoon remain normal.
