Vanzara joins dance with community members, announces his debut in public life

Gandhinagar

Retired Gujarat Police officer D.G.Vanzara today joined his Banjara community fellows in traditional celebration dance at his reception function in Gandhinagar town hall. Section of Banjara community members started traditional folk dance on the stage with sticks and swords in hand while Vanzara’s brother K.G.Vanzara, a class one government officer started singing a song. Vanzara too joined the dance with his brother and other community members with sword in his hand. Serving IPS officer of Gujarat Police Shri P.P.Pande was on stage with Vanzara sitting next to him. Pande too was one of the victim of what Vanzara describes as a ‘political conspiracy’ against Gujarat police officers. Gandhinagar town hall was occupied majorly by Vanzara community members. After 8 years of imprisonment Vanzara was released on bail in encounter cases but with condition that he would stay outside Gujarat in Mumbai. The courts recently lifted this condition following which Vanzara is back at home in Gandhinagar. A reception function in Gandhinagar town hall was organized by his family and community members.

In his speech Vanzara said he is retired but not tired. He said his just first inning has been over, but the second inning starts today. He said even junior police officers prefer to stay in AC office, but he was always public’s man and spent more time in public. He said he is today entering a public life.

“Kutch’s problem are mine, north Gujarat’s problem are mind, eastern belt’s problem are mine,” he said.

He said Prime Minister Modi had after his election as Vadodara Lok Sabha MP said in his speech that Vikas should be a Jan Andolan (development should be a public movement). He said he would be active in this Jan Andolan for Vikas.

Vanzara said police officers released on bail in encounter cases have passed only first phase of test.

“Gold passes through test and not thread, Ram passes through test and not Ravan, Pandavas passes through test and not Kauravas, Sati passes through test and not prostitutes, Prahlad passes through test and not Hiranya Kashyapu, Prithviraj Chauhan passes through test and not Jaychand, Siraj Ud Daula passes through test and not Mirza, Braves passes through test and not weak,” he said.

Vanzara said in this nation presently a season of Jaychand, Mirjafaras and anti-national has come. Wherever you see, you find anti-nationals. It is relatively easier to save this country from criminals and terrorists or attacks of Pakistan and China, but it’s more difficult to save this country from anti-national politicians.

He said Gujarat Police has not committed any sin or crime. Gujarat Police did whatever it had to do as per constitutional provisions and part of their duty.If they had failed to do their duty, Gujarat could become second Kashmir. Police officers were sent to jails instead of reward because anti-national politicians played tricks against them.

Earlier he was accorded warm welcome on his arrival here. Flower petals were showered on him with slogans like ‘Dekho Dekho Kaun Aaya, Gujarat ka Sher aaya’ and ‘Vanzara tum aage badho, hum tumhare saath hain’.

Senior police officer P P Pandey, a co-accused with Vanzara in Ishrat Jahan case, in his address on the occasion termed him as ‘Bramharshi’ for his dedicated services. He remembered his days with Vanzara and his services for the state and the nation. Senior VHP leader Dinesh Trivedi was also present on the occasion.

Family members of Mr. Vanzara, his wife and brother were also seated on the stage where he was offered a silver made sword from his community as a mark of respect and welcome. He danced with the community members and family in traditional manner of his community with the sword.
