Parul University founder Jayesh Patel sent to 8 days police custody

Local court in Vadodara today sent rape accused Jayesh Patel, founder president of Parul University to 8 days police custody upto 3 pm on 30th June. Police took Jayesh Patel to Karjan police station considering security issues in Waghodia where police case has been filed against him by victim girl who is nursing student in Parul University.
Jayesh Patel’s lawyer Kaushik Bhatt demanded helper for Patel on medical grounds, however the court rejected this demand and said policeman can be taken for medical assistance if needed by accused.
Today in court police presenting 18 points to get remand of accused said Patel’s university management was refusing to provide CCTV footage of the night of crime incident involving hm. Police said it needs to probe whether Patel had raped other female students in university. Police said Patel is medical professional and he had used medicines to dilute crime evidence during rape.
In Waghodia court campus, people shouted slogans of ‘Asaram’, ‘Asaram’ as they saw accused Jayesh Patel.
In another related development, Vadodara police booked 6 Shiv Sena cadres for cruelty against animals during protest against Jayesh Patel. Shiv Sena workers had used a donkey to stage protest against Patel. Donkey was marched for an hour with an effigy of Patel. Makarpura police field suo-moto FIR against Shiv Sena for cruelty against animal.
