Surat to have full-scale city bus service operation soon

Surat: The city of Surat will soon have over 300 city buses at service for citizens. Surat Municipal Corporation(SMC) has already initiated the process for purchase of 300 buses. SMC intends to operate in-total 1,000 buses to cover the entire city which has also Bus Rapid Transit System(BRTS) in place. The first phase would cover operation of 500 buses, of which purchase of 300 bus chases is in process. The Government of Gujarat is going to supply 75 chases, over which coaches will be built by SMC. At present the city has 95 city buses in operation.
