Gandhinagar: As present Chief Secretary of Gujarat G.R. Aloria is retiring today evening, he is all set to be replaced by 1983 batch IAS J.N. Singh (full name Shri Jagadip Narayan Singh).

JN Singh, the only 1983 batch IAS officer of Gujarat cadre who hasn’t yet retired, is currently Additional Chief Secretary(ACS) of Finance department.

He was sure to be elevated as Chief Secretary unless Aloria could get extension.

1959 born Mr. Singh is going to retire in year 2019. He was appointed as IAS in October 1983. His native is Patna, Bihar.

M.A (Inter-national Studies) from Jawaharlal Nehru University(JNU) in Delhi and MDM from AIM, Manila, Mr. Singh got his Ph.D.from Maharaja Sayajirao Unievrsity(MSU) Vadodara.

There are IAS officers senior than Dr. Singh in Gujarat cadre but they are serving in Delhi. They are Dr. Amarjit Singh, Tapan Ray, Hasmukh Adhia, Rita Teaotia and Pradip Kumar Pujari.
