January 05, 2017
Bhuj: Kutch Tourism Private Ltd(Kutch Sagar Setu)’s ferry boat service between Okha on Saurashtra side and Mandvi on Kutch side is getting so well response during the winter season that the operators are now mulling to operate second boat on same route.
100-passenger capacity Mahi boat which has been procured from Maharashtra is presently in operation during the morning and afternoon period. On daily basis, the boat leaves Okha to reach Mandvi in the morning and comes back on the same route in the afternoon.
On new year morning each passenger was given traditional copper bell made by handicraft artists of Kutch as a gift.
If second boat is deployed on this route, there shall be two rounds during the day on both directions. A visitor who leaves for Mandvi in the morning will be able to come back to Okha in the evening after spending a day there if second boat is operated in later afternoon-evening time according to Rajesh Doshi, the operator of this service.
