Polling Underway for Gujarat Local Body Bypolls in Eight Local Bodies

According to the State Election Commission, polling is being held to fill vacant seats in the affected local bodies.
The by-polls cover one ward in Dharampur Municipality and one ward in Chhota Udepur Municipality. The bypolls also cover a seat in the Devaliya-Dharampur district panchayat, a seat in the Paddhari taluka panchayat of Rajkot district, and seats in the Dediapada and other specified local panchayat bodies.
Polling is from 7 am to 5 pm. Voters are required to carry their Elector Photo Identity Card (EPIC) or an alternative identification document permitted by the Election Commission.
The State Election Commission has directed election officials to ensure orderly polling and make the necessary arrangements at all polling stations. Police personnel are also deployed to maintain law and order, particularly at sensitive and hyper-sensitive polling booths.
