Shahrukh should be booked for Vadodara incident: VHP

Ahmedabad: Reiterating its demand that actor Shahrukh Khan should be booked under ‘sedition’ charges for his alleged anti-national activities, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) today said that he should also be booked for the Vadodara railway station incident in which an innocent life was lost.

Talking to newsmen here, VHP Gujarat unit’s general secretary Ranchhod Bharwad said that the actor should seek apology for the incident and must pay a compensation of Rs 50 lakh to the family members of Fareed Khan Sherani, who had died owing to heart attack triggered in the stampede like situation two days ago on Vadodara railway station during Shahrukh’s train ride to promote his film Raees.

‘This man is a Pakistan lover. He talked of giving Rs 400 crores for Pakistan during flood there and acts with an actress from there who on PTV refuses to say a word for India. He had talked about intolerance in India but never thinks about our soldiers facing attack from Pakistan. He himself has lost sanity of mind,’ the VHP leader said.

Taking about the Vadodara incident, Bharwad alleged that he used the government property ie railways for the promotion of his film and arranged crowd using money.

‘He might have taken permission for the use of train for film promotion but should he not ensure the safety of people before doing so. He is also responsible for the incident and should apologize for what had happened. He should also be booked for it and must pay Rs 50 lakh compensation to the dependents of the deceased,’ the VHP leader said.
