Vadodara Railway police probe team summons Farhan Akhtar

Vadodara: Railway Police in Vadodara which is investigating a death on Vadodara railway station during promotion of Hindi film Raees on January 23 has summoned actor Farhan Akhtar who heads M.S.Excel Entertainment Private Ltd, the firm that had sought permission for promotion of Raees from railways. Nine directors of this firm are identified as Farhan Akhtar, Zoya Akhtar, Nitya Mehra, Shujaat Saudagar, Reema Kagati, Abhinay deo, Karan Anjuman, Mrigdipsinh Lamba and Vijay Lalwani.
Railway police team headed by DySP Tarun Barot is probing the incident of chaos at the railway station that caused injury to twelve persons including 1 police head constable and death of one during promotion of Raees in presence of Shah Rukh Khan aboard the halting train. Probe team had earlier informed Farhan Akhtar twice to appear before railway police in Vadodara to give his statement. However there was no reply from Akhtar, following which police has issued summons to him.
Police has received statement of Mumbai Church gate office based PRO Ravindra Bhakhre who gave permission for controversial film promotion aboard train and at the railway stations. Probe team has also received statements of Irfan Pathan and Yusuf Pathan who had arrived at Vadodara railway station on February 23 when the incident took place. Pathan brothers in their statement stated that they had come to meet actor Shah Rukh Khan in train.
