Congress burns down budget copies in 8 cities, BJP welcomes budget that has not single Rupee tax hike
February 21, 2017
Gandhinagar: Gujarat Congress today in a statement said the budget presented by the BJP government today is just about only announcement. The budget misleads the people and therefore city Congress workers will burn down the copies of this budget in 8 cities across Gujarat. Congress spokesperson in his statement said, “the budget has nothing for youths. It has nothing for urban-middle class. Government is duping the citizens when it comes to affordable housing. There has been no relief for traders. Small-middle class businessmen will face even further hard time. To have own house has become a dream for women. Government has not generated new jobs in this budget. Education has become very costly for small-middle class students. There has been no announcement for students in this budget. Employees are exploited for last many years.”
Welcoming the budget presented today by finance minister Nitin Patel under the leadership of chief minister Vijay Rupani, Gujarat BJP spokesperson Bharat Pandya pointed out that the budget has no provision of even single rupee of additional tax.
Pandya said, “this budget would cause welfare of people, good of people, development of the people covering all dimensions. The budget has number of schemes covering entire life span of a person starting from birth to the end of life. The budget has covered all communities and sections of society. Poor, rural and farmers are in the center of this budget. The budget will further empower youths and women through further boost to education and employment.
Pandya complemented the government for coverage of journalists and their family members under Maa Vatsalya Yojana, the decision that would offer them R 2 lakh medical benefits annually with insurance cover of Rs 5 lakh.
In response to Congress party’s allegation that this was the last budget of BJP government, Pandya said, “Congress is stooping to a new low. Making fake allegations without any evidence, creating ruckus in assembly, issuing irresponsible statements, giving agitation programmes etc is becoming identity of Congress party. The people of Gujarat are never going to accept them. The announcement made by Congress that its cadre would burn copies of budget is again a foolish act, as it would be like burning down the benefits of various schemes mentioned in the budget.”
