Alpesh Thakor, around 500 supporters detained during march to Tata Motors Sanand plant

Sanand: Kshtriya Thakor Sena outfit leader Alpesh Thakor and around 500 of his supporters were today detained close to Sanand toll plaza before his departure to the Tata Nano plant for his controversial lock-down programme.
This development was on expected lines. Thakor doesn’t enjoy so big support to create great challenge. His event was primarily aimed at getting media glare.
SP of Ahmedabad (Rural) R V Asari said that Alpesh and around 500 of his supporters were detained near Iyava village close to Sanand toll point under section 68 of the Gujarat Police Act. They will be released later. They were taking out a procession without permission.
Alpesh whose Sanand bundh event against the alleged police atrocity on a farmers rally recently had proved to be a fiasco had announce the lock-down of Tata Nano plant here demanding 85% job for local youths.
Sarpanchs of many close-by villages and several industry bodies had sent representation to the administration opposing Thakor’s programme and requesting the police to deal strictly with him.
