2 killed and as many injured in wild bear’s attack in North Gujarat

Palanpur: At least two villagers died while two others injured in attack of a wild bear near a forest in the hilly area close to Kansa village under Danta taluka of Banaskantha district in North Gujarat, police said today.
PSI of Danta A R Vala said that a villager from Khapra village had gone to nearby hill forests for grazing his goats last evening but did not return till late last night. When around 30 to 40 villagers went to the forest early morning today to search him, the bear attacked them too killing one more villager and injuring two others while the man in search of whom they had gone was also found dead with marks of attack by the bear over his body.
Both the deceased and the injured belonged to local tribe community. The two injured have been admitted to a hospital in Palanpur.
The forest department is trying to track and nab the beer in the forest infested with many such beasts.
