More on preparations for Prime Minister’s visit to Surat

Surat: Lighting decoration, sand sculptures, rangoli etc created for Prime Minister’s reception/road show in Surat will continue to be there for public till April 23. The five km Gaurav Path road stretch has been converted into Swagat Path like Singapore. 3D show, laser lights, LED light, thematic traffic circles and dividers etc will continue to enthrall the visitors for one week till 23 April, as per a decision taken by Municipal Commissioner. This is likely to be further extended upto 1st of May.
More on bikers rally:
100 professional bikers will be on the frontal side of 25,000-strong bikers rally on PM’s arrival today evening. 81 women bikers led by biking queen Sarika Mehta will be there on the end-side of bikers rally. 35 girls of bikers group will be sitting on bikes with tricolor in their hands. On 42 Swagat points and 13 other places, sadhu/sants, Govinda mandals, divyangs, Kantha area Koli community, Art of Living etc groups will welcome the Prime Minister.
Building survey:
800 buildings on route of Prime Minister’s road show are checked by police. 180-200 buildings are surveyed for security reasons.
SMC gives Rs 4 crore facelift
SMC has spent Rs 4 crore on decoration and lighting. Hoardings are put up at six places. Entry gates are created at two places. Athwa gate, L&T island, Majura gate based Janshakti island, Chidiyakui Swarnim kalash, new fountain opposite Yatimkhana, lighting decoration at fountain. 150 square meter granite flooring around Ambedkar statue at Mandarwaja, 400 square meter PCC work under Sahara darwaja bridge, 1200 sq m color work on wall from Patelwadi to Katargam. 18 sqm wall repairing work of railway opposite Chidiyakui. 1825 m road recarpetting near Kiran hospital. 1025 m ACC road from Naginavadi to Gayatri mandir community hall. 850 m gard stone, 1590 m footpath from old zone office to Gayatri depot. Six pillars set up containing 1800 plants in vertical garden. 7 types of plants. This as part of bridge beautification in 1800 sq ft of Athva gate flyover bride. 1,000 hanging baskets and 15 hanging trees on light poles of flyover bridge from airport to Lal darwaja. 300 city buses are put for public to reach road-show venue.
1700 detained
15 DCP, 39 ACP, 108 PIs, 272 PSIs, 284 women police, 4625 cosntable/head constables, 208 SRP jawans, 6 BDS teams, 3 Quick Rsponse Teams, 6 anti-morcho squad teams are deployed for PM’s Surat visit. Over 1700 offenders are detained.
Girls/Women to welcome PM with Kalash and Tulsi plants
1500 girls/women will welcome the PM with kalash on their heads. 2,000 women will welcome the PM with Tulsi plant in planter. BJP women cadres will dress like Jhansi Rani, Mirabai, Ahilyabai, Bharat Mata etc while welcoming the PM.
12 stages set up on route
12 stages on road-show route will host cultural performances. On 35 points, various communities, organizations representing various states will welcome the PM.
