More on two days State Executive meet of Gujarat BJP at Somnath

Ahmedabad: Two-day Gujarat BJP state executive meet concluded at Somnath on Saturday. Key session of two-day meet was party president Amit Shah’s address details of which are already covered in another article. Presented here are more details sourced from the two-day meet.
– Party leaders found national party president Amit Shah’s address most motivating and inspiring in entire meet. Shah in his speech spoke thrice that upcoming Gujarat election is not just to form the government, or to get 3/4th majority but it is for rooting out the Congress party from each booth completely.
– Chief Minister Rupani and state party president Jitubhai Vaghani in their addresses announced plans to hold a big meeting of 10 lakh page pramukhs of BJP from across Gujarat in presence of Prime Minister Modi. Page pramukh is one who is incharge of one page of voters list issued by the election commission. Generally one page includes 40 to 48 voters.
– Presentations were showcased by city/district units of Gujarat BJP in one of the sessions on their extra mile initiatives. Among some of most admired ones was the an initiative by Ahmedabad city BJP unit. A booklet containing details upto joint-page pramukh. Ahmedabad city has 16 assembly seats and 48 wards with around 1 lakh page pramukhs. Each page pramukh will be sent post card containing details of his/her name, address, polling station(Shakti Kendra) name, booth number, page number, ward and assembly seat name. Related booklet has detailed classification upto joint page president level covering all areas including Muslim areas. Another presentation admired was belonging to Vadodara city unit that had published data book containing booth level organization details. One more presentation admired was from Gir Somnath unit of BJP. This district unit has formed Antyoday committees at micro level to regularly give pro-poor programmes and reach out to mark Pandit Deendayal centenary year.
– BJP is likely to announce the finer details of organizational programmes post state executive meet in next few days. Presently party’s vistaraks(full-timers) are out in the field for six-month and one year. The next edition of Vistarak yojana will be for shorter terms such as one week or ten days. Party cadre will leave routine life and travel to another booth area for short period as full timer(Vistarak). They will be trained for whatever activities they need to do as Vistarak.
– On the second and the last day, Amit Shah arrived at around 11.00 am at Somnath and then held hours long meeting with Rupani, Vaghani and Rupala in a separate room before going to the meeting hall for his address.
– The party gave more emphasize on Shakti Kendra and booth level organization. Shakti Kendra is polling station in municipal corporation area. Shakti Kendra is is equal to a ward in municipality area. Shakti Kendra is equal to taluka panchayat seat in rural area. Generally each booth has 1,000 to 1200 voters. Booth committee is approved when it has minimum 50 members.
– Fringe movements including Hardik Patel led so called Patidar agitation which excite section of media and Congress leaders a lot was forget discussed, not even mentioned in any of the speeches delivered during the meet.
