Gujarat govt allocates 1,025 ha land for greenfield airport near Rajkot

Gandhinagar DeshGujarat: The State Cabinet with Chief Minister Vijay Rupani as chairperson here today decided to allocate 1,025 hectares land to the Airport Authority of India (AAI) at Hirasar near the Rajkot city. The decision would entail balanced, overall economic growth of the Saurashtra region.
The plot falls under three villages of Dosli-Ghuma, Garida and Lomakotadi. AAI will develop the new world class airport on Build Operate & Maintenance basis.
The new airport was necessitated with a view to expand the existing Rajkot airport on 250-acre for the city’s greater connectivity with all the districts of the Saurashtra region.
