Vadodara: After the launch of Cricket Academy of Pathans in Raipur and Port Blair, Yusuf Pathan and Irfan Pathan- have partnered with PitchVision cricket technology for their first ever hi-tech cricket academy in Lunawada, the headquarter town of Mahisagar district in their home-state Gujarat.
The duo plan to reach out to various cities in India to enrich budding cricketers.
The Core team at ‘Cricket Academy of Pathans’ also includes Greg Chappel and Cameron Tradell. PitchVision’s technology will enable Pathan brothers and their team of cricket experts to monitor and track the overall progress of their cricketers on a day to day basis. It will also provide a comprehensive analysis of every ball played through its digital platform.
At the launch of the academy in Lunawada, Irfan Pathan said, “Technology is revolutionising the game of cricket. We are happy that we found an apt partner which will help us groom the upcoming cricketing talent. The technological assistance will help coaches and kids to be able to understand and analyse their game in a better manner.”
On the occasion Irfan also interacted with coaches, parents and students from the academy. While Irfan bowled a few deliveries, the crowd got to experience his cricketing skill live.
Irfan said that Cricket Academy of Pathans was an institute born out of a simple thought of ‘giving back’ and is all set to revolutionise the standards of coaching and development of cricket in India. After their contribution over the years to Indian cricket, he and Yusuf now intend to eradicate the one major hurdle in the path of churning out talented cricketers from India: lack of proper coaching. Since only the best can promisingly turn out the best, CAP also has on board, Greg Chappell and Cameron Tradell, the renowned coaches from Australia, as the chief mentors of CAP.
Realising the need of the hour, that is, to strengthen the ‘backbone’ of cricket, which was coaching, CAP aims to tackle this problem on two levels: ‘Coaching the Coaches’ and ‘Coaching the Kids’. While the academy will train the interested coaches in the skills, these coaches will in turn train the aspiring kids. Both Mr Chappell and Mr Tradell have curated the CAP curriculum and the focus will also be on the nutrition and the physical development of the kids, hence providing a wholesome training experience.
