Shakersinh’s MLA son Mahendrasinh Vaghela in Delhi
May 20, 2017
Gandhinagar: Ahead of Rajya Sabha election for three seats in Gujarat and speculation driven fear that fourth candidate could be in fray with BJP support and several Congress MLAs may do cross voting, the Congress leadership in Delhi has called Bayad MLA and Shankersinh Vaghela’s son Mahendrasinh Vaghela to Delhi. It should be mentioned that Shankersinh is out on some undeclared visit since May 17. Rajya Sabha election programme was announced exactly on the same day. Shankersinh has been in news for skipping number of party functions and crucial meetings, group photo session with Rahul Gandhi and for removal of anti-BJP tweets from his twitter handle. It is widely discussed in political circles that Mahendrasinh is likely be given the post of minister in BJP government post 2017 assembly elections while Shankersinh could be sent to Rajya Sabha or made Governor if father-son join BJP along with their supporters and Congress MLAs. Shankersinh and Gujarat Congress president Bharatsinh Solanki both have categorically termed all speculations baseless on more than once occasion in recent past. Same way BJP president Amit Shah also clarified yesterday in a talk show of news channel in Delhi that he had not talked to Shankersinh. He however added that looking at newspaper reports it appears that Shankersinh was upset with Congress.
