Over 10 BJP leaders, former MLAs to join Congress in next 15-20 days: Solanki
June 10, 2017
Ambaji (Gujarat): Gujarat Congress President and former union minister Bharatsinh Solanki today claimed that over 10 leaders or ruling BJP would switch over to Congress in next 15-20 days.
Speaking to media persons here today after darshan at Ambaji temple Solanki said more than 10 leaders of BJP will join Congress in next 15-20 days. Many former MLAs of BJP are going to join the Congress party. We will do a blast and you will see it.
Solanki said none MLA from Congress has joined the BJP.
He said media deliberately run the story regarding divisions in Congress party to benefit the BJP politically.
It’s worth noting that on 17th of May, Bharatsinh had claimed that BJP leaders would join Congress party in Gujarat in next fortnight. However nothing like that has happened so far even after fortnight and more.
Speaking to media persons at the same venue, Gujarat Congress incharge Ashok Gehlot said, ours is a very big party. MLAs, MPs can have their say. The problem is in BJP. Chief Minister had to be changed. There’s rift between Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister. Media wouldn’t talk about BJP. Bharatsinh and Shankersinh in Congress will jointly fight the election.
In another development, sulking leader of opposition Shankersinh Vaghela was today again on visit to Delhi.
In one more development, Congress MLA Raghavji Patel told on TV that he was upset with infighting among party leaders. Raghavji didn’t deny possibility of split in Congress. Raghavji said just ensuring party ticket to sitting MLAs for upcoming assembly poll is not enough. There are divisions at leadership level. One faction would work against another faction to defeat the party candidate. Raghavji also said that party is losing plot among people due to infighting. Another MLA from Jamnagar district Dharmendrasinh Jadeja joined Raghavjibhai reflecting the same feeling.
