July 07, 2017
Morbi: Ceramic Association here has decided to sell each box of their products by issuing a bill. A meeting of Morbi Ceramic Association was held here and a decision was taken unanimously that any businessman found selling even a single box of ceramic product without bill will have to pay fine of Rs 5 – 10 lakh to association.
This decision was taken in connection with implementation of Goods and Service Tax(GST) from 1st July.
The association had initially protested against provision of 28% GST on their products. While efforts are on to bring it down to 18%, and talks are going on with the government for the same, the association has meanwhile accepted the provisions of GST and decided to stay united and sell the products only by issuing bills and paying GST.
