Myanmar Defence Forces Chief visits Amul plant, Nano Factory and GERMI

Ahmedabad: Commander–in-Chief of Defence Forces of Myanmar Senior General Min Aung Hlaing today visited Amul Dairy plant at Anand, TATA NANO factory at Sanand and Gujarat Energy Research & Management Institute (GERMI) at Raysan near Gandhinagar.

His wife visited the military station area here to see skill development center and ASHA school.

Army spokesperson Wing Commander Abhishek Matiman today said that General Hlaing who arrived here yesterday with his wife and 15 other members of a delegation on a 3 day trip had visited Gandhi Ashram and the Sabarmati River Front yesterday. The Commander-in-Chief, along with the delegation today visited Amul Dairy plant at Anand, TATA NANO factory at Sanand and Gujarat Energy Research & Management Institute (GERMI).

At Amul, the General was briefed in detail on the largest cooperative society in which small producers join hands to form an integrated approach to economize large scale business. The General Officer, during his visit to GERMI, was briefed on various aspects related to solar Power and its applications. He also visited the solar power plant at the institute. The delegation would depart tomorrow by service aircraft

Meanwhile his wife Mrs Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, visited the Skill Development Center of the Golden Katar division’s of Army’s Wives Welfare Association and Golden Katar Aggregated Social Health Activities (ASHA) School in the army cantonment here today. She was received by Mrs Sonya Puri, Chairperson Golden Katar Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA) and a traditional warm welcome was extended to her by the families of Golden Katar Division. She was briefed about Golden Katar AWWA on the role, objectives and the initiatives taken by it to empower the families of serving and veteran soldiers and widows by conduct of various Skill Development Courses which are aligned with the National Skill Development Scheme. After the briefing she was shown the infrastructure created by the Golden Katar Skill Development Centre for imparting various skills. She not only admired but also appreciated the initiative taken by the Golden Katar AWWA and interacted fervently with the trainees. The visit was followed by Group Photograph with the ladies of Golden Katar Skill Development Centre.

She also visited the Golden Katar Aggregated Social Health Activities (ASHA) School as part of her visit to the Ahmedabad Military Station. ASHA School is a prestigious institution and a great initiative by the Indian Army to foster hope, courage and confidence among the differently abled children or children with special needs.

Wing Commander Matiman said that Daw Kyu Kyu Hla was given a very warm welcome by the children and she interacted with the them during her visit to classrooms and therapeutic infrastructures. She was touched by the warmth shown by the children. She appreciated the inimitable and valuable role played by the Golden Katar ASHA School in delivering high class educational and therapeutic facilities to these children to become independent member of the society. She conveyed her appreciation to the Indian Army and Golden Katar Division for the initiative and solicited other such schools to emulate and develop the standards, facilities and the care as shown by the Golden Katar ASHA School.
