Ahmedabad: Gujarat Congress said party had not suspended him before 24 hours. Shankersinh himself today said that he was going to resign. If he was suspended then there was no question of giving resignation. There are contradictions in his statements.

Refering to Vaghela’s claim that he was neglected in Congress party, Patel pointed out that Vaghela himself had said that Soniaji trusted him and Rahul always gave him time. Vaghela was given various posts eventhough he was coming from different ideological bacground. If Vaghela said he was neglected by party, then again there’s contradictions in his claim.

Patel said Congress party had given him the power of leader of opposition so that he could fight for the issues of people effectively.

“Shankersinh was given power and office by Congress party and he was part of party’s strategy team. In such circumstances he should not say that Congress had taken supari for BJP. In near future it will be clearly known to the people that who actually took whose supari.”

“Against the big claims, very small number of MLAs were present there. I congratulate Congress MLAs that they avoided going to this function even after lot of pressure on them.”

“We will probe into the reasons why MLAs attended the function. The party will take appropriate decision.”

“Vaghela didn’t listen to core committee’s request on earlier occasion and took his decisions as per his own wish. There’s point of meeting him again.”

Patel said Rajya Sabha election will not be impacted by this development.
