Three Congress MLAs Balwantsinh Rajput, Tejshriben and Prahlad Patel join BJP
July 27, 2017
Gandhinagar: All the three Congress MLA’s including its former Chief whip Balwantsinh Rajput who resigned from their membership of the Gujarat assembly today joined BJP.
BJP state president Jeetu Vaghani welcomed them by putting a saffron scarf on their shoulders as a symbolic gesture of joining the party at the BJP state headquarters Srikamalam this evening.
He said that owing to the policy and practice of Congress no good man can stay with it.
Vaghani said that all the three were highly experienced and would assist in the development journey of the country under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi.
Earlier in a rapid political development which can be seen as a big jolt of sorts for main opposition Congress, today soon after the resignations of chief whip in the assembly Balvantsinh Rajput (MLA from Siddhpur) and women MLA of Patidar community Tejshriben Patel (Viramgam) another party MLA P I Patel (Vijapur) also followed suit and handed over his resignation to the speaker.
Meanwhile speculations were on about the possibility of some more Congress MLA’s calling it a quit from the party soon.
Earlier after handing over their resignations to speaker Ramanlal Vora in his chamber here, Rajput and Tejshriben said that they were disappointed at the state of affairs in the party. Tejshriben and P I Patel, both Patidar leaders, alleged that Congress was not at all concerned about the community.
