October 31, 2017
Ahmedabad: Birju Kishorkumar Harjivanbhai Salla who is Parajiya Soni in Mumbai who planted hijack and bomb threat letter in Jet Airways flight is now facing life sentence under new anti-hijacking law, said police in Ahmedabad today.
Birju had created a threat letter in English in his office computer and also mentioned Urdu text through google translate. Ahmedabad city crime branch has sent a team to Mumbai to seize the computer.
According to JCP of Ahmedabad Crime Branch JK Bhatt, Birju had planted the letter in washroom of flight over toilet paper roll.
Frequent flyer in Jet Airways Birju was flying in business class. He was identified by cabin crew as sole passenger who had visited washroom. CCTV footage also confirmed it. Birju was disembarked and questioned during which he confessed that he only had made and planted a threat letter.
Birju had in the past too tried to defame Jet Airways by claiming that he was served food with cockroach in it by Jet Airways.
JCP JK Bhatt said, ‘multi millionaire Birju has a lover in Delhi. She was time and again telling Birju that if Jet Airways is closed she would discontinue her job and would not do job anywhere else. Birju therefore did this act to harm Jet Airways.’
Bhatt said central agencies were seeking various details from Ahmedabad Crime Branch. If government decides, NIA would take over the probe from city crime branch.
Excerpts of the letter made by Birju read ‘’Flight no 9W339 is covered by 12 hijackers and the aircraft should be taken directly to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). If you put (in) landing gear, you will hear people dying, as the cargo area contains explosive bombs.’’
The flight from Mumbai to Delhi with 125 people on board including Birju and 9 crew had to made an emergency landing here owing to the threat letter.
