BJP today said that the alleged sex video of PAAS leader Hardik Patel has nothing to do with the party but Congress should not try to defend the person (Hardik) in the video by hurting the pride of Gujarat and insulting Sardar Patel again.

Senior BJP leader and union minister Mansukh Mandaviya in a press conference here today said, ‘a person associated with Patidar agitation and a former aide of Hardik and convenor of another outfit Ashwin Patel has uploaded this video and it was between the persons. BJP has nothing to do with it. I have seen it via social media and it looks like a stigma for the Gujarati pride and a big shock for the honour of the women folk of the state.’

‘Two leaders of Congress were supporting Hardik after this incident publicly and are saying that Hardik’s DNA was that of Sardar Patel Saheb. Do you think that the person in video can belong to the DNA of Sardar Saheb. Congress which has a history of insulting Sardar Saheb was again doing so by linking his name with such a shameful incident,’ he said.

‘On behalf of the people of Gujarat and the whole country we condemn this mentality of Congress to insult Sardar Patel on every possible occasion,’ Mandaviya said.

He also attacked Hardik for making allegations against BJP in the matter. ‘If you have to make any clarification go to police to file a complaint rather than making baseless allegation against BJP to divert the issue. The people of Gujarat and Patidar community was intelligent enough to understand your bluffs. The person who has uploaded the video has also challenged you to prove it wrong in four days and you should do it rather than unnecessarily dragging BJP in it,’ the BJP leader said.

Notably, Congress spokesperson Shaktisinh Gohil while defending Hardik in this matter had in his reaction said that BJP was trying to bent and crush Hardik Patel, who belongs to the DNA of Sardar Patel. He had said that the emergence of the video of an example of the very low grade politics of BJP. Congress MLA Paresh Dhanani had also defended Hardik openly in this matter.
