Manmohan who led the most corrupt govt. in India’s history should see his track record first: Jaitley in Gujarat

Ahmedabad/Surat:

Union Finance Minister and Senior BJP leader Arun Jaitley today advised former PM Manmohan Singh to see his own ‘track record’ before speaking about Modi government.

Jaitley, who was also the election in-charge of ruling BJP in Gujarat, said during an event in Ahmedabad that Dr Singh must look at his own track record first.

‘He had led for 10 years the UPA government at center which is termed as the most corrupt government in the history of the nation. Scams to the tune of Rs 1.76 lakh crores and 1.85 lakh crores came to fore during his regime. He was leading a government in which no one listened to the Prime Minister. The image across the globe during his rule was that there was policy paralysis in India. The foreign investors had pulled back their money,’ Jaitley said.

He said that on the other hand India was the fastest growing economy in the world for three consecutive years during Modi government.

To a query he also said that Congress was making Rafael deal an issue in Gujarat election as it was not having any issue at all. ‘The government to government deal without any middleman like Quatrochi in Bofors deal, was completed two and a half years back but Congress was raking it up in Gujarat now,’ he said.

Earlier during a press conference in Surat ha said that UPA government led by Manmohan Singh was in fact a leader-less government. He was a powerless PM during whose rule the FDI had completely stopped owing to policy paralysis.

To a query about the said soft-Hinduvta stand of Congress in Gujarat, he said that BJP was always known as a Hindutva supporter party and when the original one was available why would someone go for a clone.
He also talked about the development during Modi government and hit out at Congress for trying to create social divide in Gujarat which had already rejected such caste politics in the past.

To another query about the concerns being raised by opposition about the possible tampering with EVMs, Jaitley said that such things indicate that Congress had already accpeted its defeat.
