Election of 2 district panchayats, 17 taluka panchayats, 75 municipalities of Gujarat in February

Gandhinagar: After the assembly election, the biggest poll season will be in February when two district panchayats, 17 taluka panchayats, 75 municipalities and 1400 gram panchayats will go for polling. The total coverage of areas that are going to witness polling is equal to 76 assembly seats.
Two district panchayats to witness election are Kheda (Central Gujarat) and Banaskantha ( North Gujarat). BJP is ruling party in both district panchayat bodies at present.
Out of 15 assembly seats of Kheda and Banaskantha districts, 9 were won by Congress plus while 6 were won by BJP.
Out of 17 taluka panchayats that are going to witness polling, 14 are with BJP while out of 75 municipalities, 59 are with BJP.
