Ahmedabad: Gujarat based leading private sector power company Torrent Power will see change in captainship of company in upcoming financial year, as Chairman Sudhir Mehta has wished to retire from the post of Executive Chairman on 31st March.

The board of directors of the company has accepted Sudhir Mehta’s proposal and requested him to take charge of the post of Chairman emeritus. 63-year old Sudhir Mehta has been leading the company since its beginning in year 2006.

The board has approved present vice chairman of company, 54-year old Samir Mehta’s appointment as Chairman of the company in place of Sudhir Mehta for five years period starting from April this year.

Company’s board has appointed present full time director of company Jinal Mehta as Managing Director and full time key managerial personnel for five years. 35-year old Jinal Mehta is MBA from University of Technology in Sidney, Australia in International Business and Finance. He has 11-year experience in power sector. The company has witnessed 92.55% rise in clear profit in quarter -2 of financial year 2017-18.
