100 years of Poland’s independence: Gujarat govt to join the celebrations in India as co-organizer

Gandhinagar: The Government of Gujarat will participate in the celebration of centenary of regaining of independence of Poland as co-organizer.
The department of Sports, Youths and Cultural Affairs, Government of Gujarat will jointly celebrate the occasion in October 2018 along with the Government of Poland.
The Chief Minister has given approval to related proposal made by India based ambassador of Poland Mr. Adam Burakowski during latter’s recent visit to capital Gandhinagar.
During the second world war, Maharaja (ruler) of Nawanagar (Jamnagar) Shri Digvijaysinhji had given shelter to 6,000 refugees from Poland released Siberia.
This special bond between India and Poland will be remembered and put before the new generation through various cultural events in Delhi and various places across the world under the title of ‘Generation to Generation’ on the occasion of 100 years of Poland’s independence.
There’s a school named after Maharaja Jam Saheb Digvijaysinhji in Warsaw in Poland.
