Gujarat High Court extends protection against arrest to Teesta Setalvad and her husband Javed

Ahmedabad: The Gujarat High Court has extended interim protection from arrest to controversial NGO operator Teesta Setalvad and her husband Javed till June 13 in a Rs 1.4 crore central govt fund embezzlement case. The court will hear the case further on June 12.
Husband wife NGO operators had approached the High Court after a lower court in Ahmedabad rejected their anticipatory bail plea. Earlier the Supreme Court had given interim protection against arrest and asked to approach a local court in Gujarat.
FIR against Teesta and Javed was filed in Ahmedabad Crime Branch on March 30 this year by Raeeskhan Pathan.
