Can leave Congress anytime, but won’t join BJP: Khambhalia MLA Vikram Madam

Ahmedabad: I will never wear saffron scarf on my shoulder, said Congress MLA Vikram Madam who represents Khambhalia assembly seat. Madam who belongs to Ahir community speaking to media persons here said, he had grievances with party and discussion was on with state party chief regarding that. He said if his issues were not addressed properly, he would leave the party.

“I can leave the party, I can leave even my home,” he said adding that he is MLA because of his supporters and he can’t tolerate injustice to his followers.

When asked whether he had issues with state party chief, Madam said, “I would obviously have issues with my party president, not with BJP president.”

Madam said he was in Ahmedabad for last two days and he would spend further two days here.

State Congress incharge Rajiv Satav is holding organisational meetings for last two days to review the preparedness for upcoming Lok Sabha general elections scheduled to take place next year. Madam is part of the meetings.

Madam’s movements were closely monitored by media persons following his viral audio clip in circulation earlier today.

‘The situation is such that I can leave Congress anytime. It is possible. I am doing my social work. I will not resign from the post of MLA. I have four and half years term left and then I will see what to do but I will certainly not join BJP. I will not resign but I will raise the issues against state party president following which he will have to kick me out. He will not be able to give reply to my queries. He will have to accept that the question I raise are true, but he will not be able to reply and kick me out of the party,’ Madam told his supporter over a phone call, audio clip of which was out in circulation. Madam later said the audio clip was authentic.

It is learnt that Madam is upset for number of reasons including suspension of Congress members in connection to recently held elections of office bearers of six taluka panchayats in Jamnagar district.
