With fiasco of yet another ultimatum, Hardik Patel starts taking water again

Ahmedabad: Congress backed PAAS leader Hardik Patel has again started taking water today when Loktantrik Janta Dal leader Sharad Yadav gave him a glass of water in SGVP hospital here where he was taken from government run Sola civil hospital last night by his supporters.

PAAS spokesperson who had given an ultimatum to the state government to give him a formal invitation of talks, said that though the government hellbent to finish them has not invited them for talks till 11am, Hardik has started taking water at doctor’s advise.

He took a glass of water from Yadav, who later told newsmen that he had come to meet him on humanitarian grounds . ‘I told him that to fight good health was a must. He must eat and drink water to keep fit for the fight. He had taken water and would also start taking food at the advise of doctor later,’ Yadav said.

Panara later said that the people of Gujarat want to see Hardik alive. He has taken water but has not taken food. His fast is still on.

Hardik who has so far not got any response from BJP government (which says that he was Congress backed and was doing this stunt for political reasons), had left water twice during his indefinite fast so far (till day 15).

He had started his fast with three demands of farmers loan waiver, patidar reservation and release of his aide Alpesh Kathiria arrested in sedition case from Jail, at his residence in Greenwood resort on August 25. Looking at the past violence and hooliganism during his earlier events, the state police denied him permission to hold fast outside.

He had earlier stopped taking water on August 30 and 31 and then started taking it again on September 1.

Yesterday on the 14th day he was admitted to Sola civil hospital and when all the reports including Kidney and Liver function tests came quite normal, his aides got him released from there alleging they do not have faith in government hospital. He was taken to SGVP hospital. He was given intravenous fluid but he did not take water orally. PAAS claimed that his fast was on.

Eyebrows were also raised as to how he had no health complications even after 14 days of fast and giving up water for long.

During his fast so far PAAS has given ultimatum after ultimatum to the government but it has not budged.

PAAS leader Nikhil Savani said that all the reports of Hardik’s tests in SGVP hospital have come and his doctors would release a bulletin about his health.

Meanwhile former union minister and DMK leader A Raja and controversial religious leader Swami Agnivesh and Pramod Krishan and former BSP MP from UP who later joined AAP only to quit it too, Iliyas Azmi also met Hardik in the hospital.
