Botad: A video of controversial and politically active Gadhada Swaminarayan temple saint SP Swami(Satya Prakash Swami), known for his anti-BJP postures and support to Congress and Hardik Patel, has gone viral in social media in which he can be seen kicking an aged man during a meeting of his temple.

In the short video Swami, who had offered water to Hardik Patel during his recent claimed ‘fast’ in Ahmedabad and had also hosted Rahul Gandhi in his temple during assembly election campaign last year, suddenly moves in anger towards an aged hari bhakt (devotee) Harsubhai Khachar sitting on the floor and kicks in with his leg.

The incident happened during a meeting regarding the voter list of the old temple trust.

However victim Harsubhai Khachar said SP Swami attacked him perhaps due to his complain regarding Rs 2 crore fraud by Trustees of Shree Gopinathji Mandir Trust following which the High Court has ordered probe.

In the video it can be seen that the situation gets tense when Khachar sitting on the floor challenged the present temple administration. Another saint sitting on a throne like chair shouted at him and at this juncture S P Swami walked angrily towards Khachar and kicked him.

SP Swami in his reaction said Khachar was breaching respect of Kothari Swami. He said this was a conspiracy to defame his organization. He said he had not seen Kothari Swami’s video.

Politically active, SP Swami has campaigned against the BJP government during assembly elections in the past. SP Swami and old Swaminarayan temple at Gadhda have been in news for protest against construction of BAPS temple in Gadhda, clash with Vadtal Swaminarayan temple’s present regime and more.
