To a query about the Congress candidate for the by-poll, date of which is likely to be announced soon by the ECI, Chavda said that the selection process was on and whoever was made candidate would get full support from each and every Congress leader and worker as a family member of the party.
Notably, Bavaliya had resigned from the seat and Congress on July 3 and joined BJP and was inducted in the Vijay Rupani cabinet the same day.
He has said that in Jasdan by poll Congress would be wiped out as for the locals he was himself Congress and now that he has left the party no one cares for the Congress party.
A few days back, president of Congress ruled Jasdan Taluka Suresh Kakadiya and that of Bichhiya taluka Kadva Jograjiya had resigned and announced support for Bavliya who would be the BJP candidate during the bypoll. Both of them had alleged that Congress was neglecting long time workers.
