December 26, 2018
Ahmedabad: Uneasiness among section of Congress party’s leaders today came on surface with a meeting held at former state party chief Arjun Modhwadia’s residence here.
Alpesh Thakor, one of the participants in this meeting said when asked by media, ‘we discussed that good leaders in State Congress should get weightage. Honest party leaders must be given due importance and preference in party organization. Neglect of good people in party is not good.’
Host of the meeting and former state party chief Arjun Modhwadia said the meeting was held to brainstorm about what should be done for grand victory of party in upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
When asked whether this meeting was held as Congress had recently lost Jasdan assembly seat by-poll, Modhwadia said the meeting was planned a fortnight ago.
Among those who attended the meeting were former state party chief Siddharth Patel, former MP and union minister Dinsha Patel, party whip and MLA Shailesh Parmar – in total 17 leaders.
Leaders of @INCGujarat met at my residence to introspect & strengthen the congress party for 2019 Loksabha election.Such dialogues with young and senior leaders will only enrich party’s prospects in near furture.
