Porbandar/Rajkot: The woman who was injured after being hit by a vehicle of Dhoraji Congress MLA Lalit Vasoya, on airport road under Udyognagar police station here has succumbed to injuries today.

Police today said that one Dishaniben H Mehta (43) was hit by a white Fortuner vehicle on Airport road last evening had died.

The incident happened when the driver driven vehicle hit Dishaniben who was crossing the road. A teacher in a private school, Dishaniben had come to Porbandar for some work. She was a native of Bhavnagar.

Vasoya was returning after participating in a local TV debate. Police did not say whether he was present in the driver driven vehicle or not. Vasoya claimed that he was in a different vehicle behind that.

Police said that the driver has not yet been arrested.
