Surat: A German make turntable fire rescue ladder vehicle arrived in Surat today in aftermath of Surat fire tragedy in which 22 children died. A new fire rescue vehicle will be usefull to reach upper floors of high-rise buildings.

– Turn table ladder will be able to reach 55 meter height (18 storey building)

– It has been purchased at a cost of Rs. 8 crore

– Inspection of this vehicle was done in Germany

– It arrived in Surat from Mumbai port

– A decision to purchase such vehicle was taken after two incidents of fire in high rise buildings in 2014 (Landmark building in Textile market and Orchid tower)

– An order for purchase was given in November 2017 to German company

– Inspection was done in present year in German
